On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has several interesting projects lined up. These include the courtroom drama Section 108.

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has once again proven why he remains one of the most grounded voices in the film industry. Recently at the NDTV Conclave, the acclaimed performer delivered a powerful and unfiltered take on success, dismantling the long-held belief that luck plays a defining role in shaping careers.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui rejects the ‘luck’ theory: “I have 0% belief in it, only practice matters”

In an industry where many often credit fate for their achievements, Nawazuddin stood firm in his belief that hard work, training, and relentless practice are the only real tools for success. Sharing his personal philosophy, the actor didn’t hold back and said, “I came into this profession with a lot practise, and I tell every actor that they should believe less in luck and more in practise. Training is very important and so are the workshops.”

He went on to directly challenge the idea that luck can determine one’s journey, something he has often heard from industry insiders. “I have often heard this from many big actors and directors that luck is very important. But I am telling you that luck doesn't work. It didn't work for me, at least. It might work for others, but I have 0% belief in luck,” he added.

For Nawazuddin, glorifying luck can be misleading, even harmful. He explained how such thinking can discourage people from putting in the necessary effort. He continued, “If you are talking about luck, you are saying that there is no need to practise. You can sleep in your bed and you will get things done just because you are lucky. Nobody should think this way. If you want to inspire someone, you should tell them to take training and education. Practise. Practise so much that when you stand in front of someone, they can't ignore you. Yes, practise so much.”

Reinforcing his point, he reiterated the importance of consistent effort and discipline. “So, it is very important to practise and take training,” he said.

Nawazuddin also warned against the dangerous comfort of believing everything is predetermined: “Don't make people lazy by telling them that only luck can make you successful. I have seen many people who say it's all written in your fate. Not true. Train and practise. Make an effort for what you want to achieve," he shared.

Perhaps the most inspiring part of his speech was his message on perseverance and age, breaking the myth that success has a deadline. The actor said, “If you don't get success even 10 times, then do it 11 times. People in their 30s and 40s stop fighting for their dreams thinking they won't get success now. You can get success in your 50s also.”

In a world obsessed with overnight fame and shortcuts, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s words strike a refreshing chord—reminding everyone that success is not a matter of chance, but of choice, effort, and unwavering commitment.

On the work front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has several interesting projects lined up. These include the courtroom drama Section 108, the international heist thriller The Great Escape Faraar, and the much-anticipated sequel Tumbbad 2.
