Veteran actress Nafisa Ali on Tuesday took to her social media to share a photo of herself with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. The actress was seen gifting SRK the 61st Cavalry Regiment’s polo jacket. The throwback photo is from Don’s promotions days.

In the photo, Shah Rukh Khan is seen admiring the gift. The actress wrote, “This was when Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra came as chief guests to our polo tournament in Delhi … we presented him with the regiment‘s polo jacket. My husband’s Regiment the 61st Cavalry was formed immediately after India’s independence in 1947 following the amalgamation of the princely states with India. All regular and irregular erstwhile state forces’ cavalry units were disbanded to raise a new Horse Cavalry Regiment. In 1954, the Gwalior Lancers, Jodhpur/Kachhawa Horse and Mysore Lancers, which were the cavalry regiments, were merged to form the 61st Cavalry. One of the world’s last remaining horse-mounted regiments — the 61 Cavalry — prominently known for its ceremonial and equestrian roles is set to be converted into a full-fledged armoured regiment.”

She added, “The regiment also participated in the battle of Haifa in Israel. Haifa Day is celebrated every year on September 23 to pay tribute to the Indian cavalry regiments of Mysore, Hyderabad and Jodhpur, which helped liberate Haifa in 1918. The decorated regiment has also earned a Padma Shri, 11 Arjuna Awards, 9 Asian Games medals, a gold medal in Polo World Cup against Pakistan, silver in Jakarta Asian Games, among other accolades in equestrian sports. The regiment is a symbol of India’s heritage.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is basking in the success of Pathaan. The film, released in January 2023, surpassed Rs. 1000 crore mark at the global box office. He is currently on the verge of wrapping the shoot for Atlee Kumar's Jawan. The film is scheduled for June 2023 release. He also has Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki set for December release.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be seen in Russo Brothers’ series Citadel which is set for Prime Video with Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci. The series will premiere on April 28. She also has a movie Love Again releasing in theatres on May 12, with Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. She also has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. She recently signed Heads of State and will co-star alongside Idris Elba and John Cena. She also has Ending Things with Anthony Mackie.

On the other hand, Nafisa Ali was last seen in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Uunchai, which was released in 2022.
