In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Thakur reacted to the viral speculation that had been circulating across social media and some entertainment platforms in the lead-up to February 14, 2026. The rumours suggested she and Dhanush were set to marry on Valentine’s Day, reports that neither party confirmed and that went unfulfilled when the date passed without any announcement.

Thakur chose to treat the speculation with humour, joking about the fervent belief on social media that the wedding was real. She said people online were acting as if the ceremony was happening “according to them”, brushing off the chatter rather than confronting it with seriousness. However, the situation escalated beyond mere gossip when some personal details, including her home address, began circulating publicly. Thakur said she did not previously employ a public relations team but decided to hire one once the rumours intensified and her privacy came under threat. “To protect myself, I had to hire a team,” she told the publication.
At the same time, she acknowledged the unintended exposure the rumours brought her, noting with a touch of sarcasm that the level of publicity from the chatter would be hard to replicate with paid promotions. She thanked those spreading unverified reports for the attention.
Thakur also reiterated that she believes she will find her life partner when the right time comes, dismissing any confirmed plans to marry at present.Amid the ongoing conversation about her personal life, the actor remains focused on her upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, scheduled to release on February 20, 2026
