Farhan Akhtar who is reuniting with his Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for Toofan decided to take off on a visit to Chandigarh recently. The actor was in the city along with girlfriend Shibani Dandekar. But before taking off, the multi-talented star revealed that he had actually called Milkha Singh, so that he plans a reunion of sorts with him. And what is more interesting? The most adorable reply that the former sportsman had for the Bollywood star!
Farhan Akhtar and Milkha Singh were working together when the former played his role in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. But the two of them have often spoken about the friendship that they continued to share even after the film’s release. So when Farhan Akhtar recently called up to catch up with Milkha Singh the latter gave him a warm welcome. Sharing this picture on Instagram, the actor also posted a note along with it saying, “Called Milkha ji to say we’re visiting Chandigarh and would like to meet him. He said ‘tumhara ghar hai. Jab chaaho aao.’ And it’s absolutely true Milkha ji.. you and your family do make it feel like home. Love you all.”
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag released way back in 2013 to extremely positive reviews and the film has been one of the trendsetters in the sports biopic genre. Interestingly, now that the same team of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar are collaborating after nine years for Toofan, this one too is expected to be a sports film, albeit a fictional one. In this one, the actor will be seen in the role of a boxer and he has already started prep for the same.
