Milind Soman reveals that he was offered a cameo role in Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Good Newwz; the actor declined as he didn’t want to be typecast as a ‘good looking person’

Milind Soman has a huge fan following thanks to his dashing looks, supreme screen presence and his passion for fitness. He was seen in a special appearance in Lakadbaggha last month and before that, he was seen in an impressive role as the hot Dr Warsi in the series, Four More Shots Please. And recently, he revealed that he was offered a special appearance in a super-hit 2019 film.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Milind Soman stated that he’s happy that he’s now being offered challenging roles and that it’s a welcome change since earlier, filmmakers would not see beyond his looks. He then gave the example of being typecast as a good-looking person and revealed that he was offered a role in Good Newwz (2019). He said that director Raj Mehta called him and narrated that he’s required for just one scene in which he has to sit between Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan on the plane and that Kareena flirts with him as he’s good-looking, which makes Akshay jealous.

Milind Soman however turned down Good Newwz as he didn’t find it exciting enough and also because he felt that he was playing himself in the film. Interestingly, he didn’t mention the name of the film or the director. But the description he gave made it easier to guess that he was referring to Good Newwz.

The cameo appearance role in Raj Mehta’s debut directorial was finally essayed by Mohit Raina. The scene, which made it to the film, however, was a bit different than what was probably narrated to Milind Soman. In Good Newwz, both Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s characters are sitting on aisle seats on a flight. Mohit Raina is sitting next to Kareena. He recognizes her and tells her that he loves reading her columns. He clicks a selfie with Kareena, who’s too happy to pose with him. A jealous Akshay asks Mohit to change his seat. But Kareena, who’s upset with Akshay, declines. Ultimately, she changes her seat and Akshay sits next to Mohit.

Besides Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Good Newwz also starred Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani.

Meanwhile, Milind Soman is one of the jury members of the Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Awards 2023. The first edition of the awards is expected to be a star-studded affair and will be held on March 24, 2023.
