Manoj Bajpayee recalls a hilarious father-daughter moment while watching The Archies; says, “She goes, ‘What is your problem, dad?'” : Bollywood News

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix movie The Archies was released earlier this month. The film, which is based on the Archies comics, starred an ensemble cast of Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Aditi Dot, Mihir Ahuja and Yuvraj Menda. Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee has revealed that he recently saw the film with his daughter Ava and both of them didn’t like it.

Bajpayee is known for speaking his mind and he did the same during an interview with Zoom. He shared a hilarious incident that happened when he was watching The Archies with his daughter Ava. He said, “My daughter was watching The Archies and I told her, ‘How you liking it’. She was like, ‘Okay’ and by then I had watched it for 50 minutes. Archies is not a part of my growing up years. My growing-up years included Motu Patlu and Ram Balram. I might have read maybe just one book of Archies and I remember Veronica and Betty. But she was also not read it.”

In the same interview, Bajpayee said that he didn’t want to watch The Archies but he did only because Ava wanted to. The actor also took the opportunity to impart the importance of speaking in Hindi to Ava since the characters in the film were also seen speaking in the same language. He told her, “See, these people are also talking in Hindi. You will also have to speak in Hindi. She goes, ‘What is your problem, dad? Please let me watch the film’.”

On the work front, Bajpayee was last seen in Devashish Makhija’s intense drama Joram, which released earlier this month. The film also starred Smita Tambe, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Tannishtha Chatterjee in a cameo.
