Pakistani actor Mahira Khan tied the knot with businessman Salim Karim in a picturesque ceremony held in Bhurban, Pakistan, in October 2023. However, the joyous occasion has been somewhat overshadowed by persistent rumours circulating in the media, speculating about Mahira's pregnancy. The Raees actress has found herself at the centre of gossip, with numerous outlets and social media platforms abuzz with conjecture regarding her supposed pregnancy. However, the actress has firmly refuted these rumours.

Speaking out for the first time since her marriage, Mahira Khan addressed the speculation surrounding her pregnancy, stating that she did not know how such rumours had begun. Speaking to Mashion, a brand started by her, she was asked about a weird rumour she heard about herself. She said, “It’s not weird. It’s just a rumour,” about her pregnancy, as she added, “I don’t know where they came up with it. Maybe because I have put on weight. But they also said that I have left a Netflix series and a major film and what not. So yeah. But it’s not true”.

In the same interview, she talked about her husband and said, “I hate that he is not expressive.” She added, “I tolerate that he is not expressive. Sometimes I like the music to be turned off but he likes the music to be on all the time. It’s like when he wakes up, he wants music and I like listening to birds and all.” Talking about what she loves about her husband, she added, “I love the fact that that he tolerates the fact that I like having my breakfast alone.”

Salim Karim is the CEO of the Pakistani startup Simpaisa. Meanwhile, Mahira Khan was previously married to actor-producer Ali Askari with whom she shares a son.

On the work front, Mahira Khan was last seen in The Legend of Maula Jatt with Fawad Khan and an Urdu mini-series Razia. In her next, she is working with Fawad again on his production Neelofar and they are also set to star in Netflix’s first Pakistan original based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s 2013 bestselling novel, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo.
