Actor Mahesh Babu made a comment that dominated the news a few days ago while promoting his next film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata. The Telugu superstar was asked if he had any plans to act in Hindi films. According to the actor, the Bollywood film industry could not afford him. Amid this, an old video of Shah Rukh Khan explaining why he would never work in Hollywood has gone viral.

The video in circulation is from the 2008 Berlinale press conference. During the interview, Shah Rukh Khan is asked about his desire to star in a Western film. The celebrity's response was, "My English isn't great. Maybe if I portray a deaf person, I'll be able to pull it off (laughs). I don't want to sound humble, but I'm 42 years old and have slightly brown skin. As an actor, I don't have a distinct selling point or specialisation. I'm not a Kung Fu expert, I can't salsa dance, and I'm not particularly tall. I believe there is no room for me in what you refer to as the "dream factory." I don't consider myself extremely gifted. I hope to continue working in Indian films and to promote Indian cinema on a global scale. That is the goal I have set for myself."

Many people have asked Mahesh Babu to "learn" from SRK. One man stated, "This is the difference between a local babu and a monarch." Another commentator stated, "This is how Srk puts it... As opposed to @urstrulyMahesh" "This is why he's known as King Khan," another commenter said.

When questioned about his plans to enter the film industry, Mahesh Babu replied, "I may appear arrogant, but I did receive countless offers in Hindi. However, I suppose they are unable to afford me. I don't want to waste my time. Because of the popularity and admiration I've gotten, I've never contemplated leaving the Telugu cinema industry.”

He later clarified, "I've always wanted to appear in Telugu films. And I've always hoped that Telugu films will be popular across the country. Why should we leave our current industry to pursue a new one? I am overjoyed that our films are reaching that audience (in North India). Our films are doing well, and my dream is becoming a reality. I'm not required to do Hindi films. I can simply make a Telugu film and it will be seen all over the world, as is now the case. You'd like to be able to make only Telugu films."
