As part of the initiative, Madhuri Dixit features in a series of digital films released across online platforms. Through informative and relatable messaging, the campaign focuses on spreading awareness about cervical cancer, its connection with the human papillomavirus (HPV), and the importance of speaking with healthcare professionals regarding preventive healthcare options.

The campaign comes at a time when cervical cancer continues to remain one of the most common cancers affecting women in India. According to data cited in the Globocan HPV India Report 2023, nearly one woman in India dies every seven minutes due to cervical cancer, despite the disease being largely preventable through awareness and timely medical guidance.

Keeping the focus on women’s health and self-care, the initiative highlights how many women often delay prioritising their own health while managing family responsibilities and everyday life.

Speaking about the campaign, Madhuri Dixit said, “Women often put their own health last while taking care of everyone else. Women's health deserves attention, priority, and open conversations. Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers where awareness and informed discussion play an important role. Through this initiative, I hope more women and families feel empowered to speak with their doctors about cervical cancer and appropriate preventive healthcare. Speaking with a doctor is an act of self-care, and it should never be postponed.”

The awareness drive also encourages parents to initiate conversations with pediatricians and gynecologists regarding cervical cancer prevention and informed healthcare decisions.

Commenting on the initiative, Brecht Vanneste, Managing Director, MSD India region, said, "Cervical cancer awareness and early consultation are a critical public health priority. Raising awareness about HPV and preventive healthcare can significantly improve long-term health outcomes for women. At MSD, we are committed to supporting initiatives that encourage informed conversations and empower women to take proactive steps to protect their health."

Over the years, Madhuri Dixit has often associated herself with initiatives related to social awareness and wellness, and her involvement in this campaign adds significant celebrity visibility to the cause. Through this initiative, MSD India aims to further strengthen conversations around prevention, education and informed healthcare choices for women and families across the country.
