“Lekar Hum Deewana Dil will work since Armaan and I don’t have an image” – Deeksha Seth

Vivacious and energetic - This is what defines not just her debut film but herself too. Conversing with Deeksha Seth, the debutant girl in Arif Ali's Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is akin to being exposed to bundle of energy. While this is also the space that the pretty girl gets into for her first ever Bollywood film, it is also a smile through company that makes the conversation worth it.

The film comes across as young, peppy and a lot of fun, right?

Yes, while Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is indeed fresh and young, it is also a very real movie. There is nothing made up about it. In fact there are a lot of scenes out there in which I was told to have no makeup or overtly done up hair; I had to keep my dialogue delivery normal too without making it filmy. The film warrants that the girl is not garish while the boy doesn't start showing off his abs. I think that is why people are finding the film fresh and appreciating it until now.

After doing over half a dozen films down South in last four years, is Lekar Hum Deewana Dil the kind of start that you always wanted in Bollywood?

I believe I couldn't have got a better launch pad. As an actress you don't really get to perform that much in your debut movie. You either play a glamour role and are just there with the hero, or it's an ensemble cast where you are sing and dance along with so many other people. In comparison, Lekar Hum Deewana Dil boasts of a one off script where both hero and the heroine are equally important. If you see the trailer, both Armaan and I are there in almost every scene. I have got a chance to act and dance, and do everything that I think constitutes for a great launchpad.

Talking about Armaan and you, guess it is time for audience to explore yet another new 'jodi' after Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in Heropanti.

(Smiles) Armaan brings a certain level of curiosity and buzz around him as he is from a very prestigious film family. The truth is that this movie couldn't have been made it hasn't starred newcomers. Had there been actors taken with some already established image, the freshness of the movie would not have been there. Since neither Armaan nor I have an earlier image, it helps to take the story further. People will watch the movie for the sake of the movie instead of superstars in there, which is a very good thing. I believe that would work for them.

As for superstars, have Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan seen the film? What do they have to say about it?

I know Kareena has seen the movie but as for Saif, I am not too sure. In fact Ranbir has seen it too and both he and Kareena are very happy and excited that their brother Armaan is being launched with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. Of course they were kind enough to me too and I am now looking forward to what audience has to say about us.
