Lately, actress Kriti Sanon and her link-up rumours with South sensation Prabhas have been constantly making headlines. Even after issuing clarification statements repeatedly, the speculations around the alleged relationship float on the internet. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan’s remark during the promotion of Bhediya fuelled the rumours further. Speaking of the same event, Kriti recently asserted that she “felt bad,” and her Adipurush co-star, Prabhas, was confused by Varun’s comment.

For the unversed, on the sets of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, Varun Dhawan had answered a question about Kriti Sanon’s name not being on the list of eligible single women. He said, “Kriti ka naam isiliye nahi tha kyunki Kriti ka naam… kisi ke dil me hai. Ek aadmi hai jo Mumbai me nahi hai, vo iss waqt shooting kar raha hai Deepika (Padukone) ke saath.” Since Prabhas is working with Deepika for Project K, a section of netizens assumed it to be him.

Later, the Heropanti actress had shared a note on her social media to clear the air once and for all. “It’s neither pyaar (love), nor PR.. our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter led to some Howl-arious rumours,” she wrote on her Instagram story. Meanwhile, Varun re-shared the post and wrote, “Huys UI had ur fun but it’s just fun and stuff the channels have edited to have fun we took it as humour dont let ur imagination run so wild.”

Speaking of this with BBC, Kriti stated, “When Varun said that, I felt really bad—I felt like I had to tell Prabhas. I picked up the phone and told him about what Varun had said. He said, ‘But why?’ I said ‘I don’t know.’ Prabhas asked why did he say that? So, I said, ‘I don’t know, Varun’s mad.”

Coming to the professional front, Kriti was last seen in Shehzada opposite Kartik Aaryan. The Rohit Dhawan directorial was released on February 17 this year. Besides Adipurush, the 32-year-old actress has multiple films in her kitty including Ganapath opposite Tiger Shroff, and The Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.
