Kriti Sanon gets emotional as Tere Ishk Mein streams on OTT; calls Mukti ‘one of her most special characters’

Following the successful theatrical run of Tere Ishk Mein, Kriti Sanon marked the film’s arrival on OTT by sharing heartfelt moments from the project on social media. Taking to Instagram, the actress reflected on the journey of her character Mukti, a role that has been widely described as one of the most layered and emotionally complex performances of her career.

The romantic drama received strong appreciation during its theatrical run for its emotional depth and engaging storytelling. Kriti’s portrayal of Mukti — a character that explored unfamiliar emotional terrain and stood distinctly apart from her previous on-screen roles — emerged as a major highlight of the film. Critics and audiences alike praised the performance, calling it one of her most mature and impactful portrayals to date.

Sharing her gratitude with fans as the film reached digital audiences, Kriti wrote, “From House-Full theatres to showering us with so much Ishk online, you all gave Shankar & Mukti so much love!! Thank you for making Mukti one of my most special characters!! Par humara dil nahi bhara hai.. We're here to meet you in your homes now!” The message underscored the strong emotional bond she built with viewers through the character and acknowledged the continued love for the film beyond cinema halls.

With Tere Ishk Mein, Kriti once again demonstrated her ability to strike a balance between commercial cinema and performance-driven storytelling. As the film finds a wider audience on OTT, conversations around its performances continue to grow. Tere Ishk Mein is a romantic drama directed by Aanand L. Rai, with a screenplay by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. Billed as a spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa (2013), the film stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

The story follows Shankar, who develops a relationship with Mukti while she conducts her PhD research on him. After Mukti ends the relationship and moves on, Shankar joins the Indian Air Force. Years later, their unresolved past resurfaces when they cross paths again.

Produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films, Tere Ishk Mein was officially announced in June 2023, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of Raanjhanaa, adding another emotional layer to its legacy as it now continues its journey on digital platforms.
