The beloved couch is back with the host Karan Johar as Hotstar Specials’ Koffee with Karan returned with season 8. This time, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday graced the couch to talk about their careers, friendships, relationships and more. During the conversation, Karan Johar talked about the box office failures that Sara faced with Love Aaj Kal and Coolie No. 1 and how her performance in the former was criticised. Sara shared that she has people around her who tell her where she went wrong.

The Love Aaj Kal actress shared, “I definitely have that eco-system. Mom doesn’t mince her words about anything and I’m thankful that I’ve surrounded myself by an ecosystem of friends that really do keep me real.”

Sara Ali Khan added that it's not about acknowledging that the film wasn't her good performance. She said, “I’ve accepted that. It’s about actually understanding the larger ramifications of that. I actually think that the way that Love Aaj Kal or Coolie No. 1 not doing well affected me is way more deep-rooted than I even realized."

She continued, “What that means is that I can get into my head. I understand that these are not good performances and if I can say so myself I really feel that whether it’s an Atrangi Re or a Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, one has tried to come out of that and that has been acknowledged and appreciated and the good work keep coming.”

“What Love Aaj Kal left was self-doubt to the next level to the point of like even personally, romantically, professionally- ‘Am I good enough? Do I need to compensate for the lack of my doing something else?’” she added.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan will next star in Homi Adajania's Murder Mubarak, Ae Watan Mere Watan and Metro In Dino.
