Kapil Sharma, Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Parul Gulati, Tridha Choudhury, Ayesha Khan, director Anukalp Goswami and producers Ratan Jain, Abbas-Mustan and Ajit Andhare attended the launch of the trailer of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 at a multiplex in Mumbai. Kapil was in the news recently when shots were fired at his restaurant, Kap's Cafe, Canada. No one was hurt. Harjit Singh Laddi, a Germany-based Babbar Khalsa operative on NIA's most wanted list, claimed responsibility for the shooting, citing some remarks on the outfit of Nihang Sikhs on a TV show hosted by Kapil, as per a report in The Times of India.

Kapil Sharma was asked about it and the host, at first, requested the journalist to stick to the film. But Kapil made it clear that he was ready to answer.

Kapil said, “This incident occurred in Vancouver, Canada. The firing occurred there three times. From what I understand, the police probably don’t have as much power to control such incidents. But after the firing occurred in our café, the case was taken up by the federal government; it’s akin to the central government in India. The case was discussed in the parliament in Canada.”

Kapil Sharma added, “Oopar waala jo karta hai, uske peechhe ki kahaani jo hoti hai, woh hum nahin samaj paate. A lot of people called me and informed that such incidents were happening regularly in that country. They said, ‘Lekin aapke café pe firing hui toh woh news bani. This has compelled the police to improve law and order in this regard’.”

Kapil was asked if he felt unsafe in India due to the firing incidents. He replied, “I never feel unsafe in Mumbai or my country. Hamari Mumbai Police jaisa koi bhi nahin hai!”

Kapil Sharma also said that there was a silver lining to the shocking episode, “Jitni baar goli chali wahaan pe, uske baad hamare café mein aur badi opening lagi!”

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 releases in cinemas on December 12.
