Kiran Kumar said that he did these films because he needed the money to build his dream house and that he is proud of all the work he has done.

In a recent interview, veteran actor Kiran Kumar said that his “B and C-grade films” helped him build his dream house. He said that he hid his true emotions from his wife, especially when he was experiencing lows, and that he is proud of all the films he has done, regardless of their budget or genre.

During an interaction with Siddharth Kanan, the actor was asked how his family reacted when he started doing “B and C-grade movies” after having done lead roles in mainstream films. The actor said, “When you share good news with your family, they will join in your happiness. But when you’re working only for money, as I did on some films, then you retreat into your own zone. It’s not a negative zone, but it’s like your heart isn’t able to accept what you’re doing. And if you tell your wife how you’re feeling, she will become upset.”

He said that he hid his true emotions from his wife, especially when he was experiencing lows. “So, whenever I used to bring my per-day envelope home, my heart would be broken, but I would give it to her with a smile on my face.”

He pointed at the ‘pillars’ outside his house and said that they cost Rs 4 lakh apiece. “And there are 11 in total. Just the pillars in my house have cost Rs 44 lakh.” The house, he said, was built when he was ‘going through a bad phase’. “It took me six years to build this house. I kept collecting money. When I got paid, I’d spend it on one segment of the house. And all of it was made possible because of my B and C-grade films. I will never condemn them, because they helped me fulfil the necessities of life. I’m as proud of those films as I am of Khudgarz, Tezaab and Khuda Gawah,” he said.

For the unversed, Kumar is the son of veteran character actor Jeevan and has appeared in Hindi, Bhojpuri and Gujarati films, usually as cops or villains. He has also done television, and most recently, he appeared in the film Sukhee.
