Long before she entered the film industry, Kiara Advani was already performing for an audience. It just happened to be a classroom full of toddlers.
In a recent conversation with Grazia India, the actor spoke about how her parents encouraged her to complete her education before pursuing acting seriously. During that period, her father suggested she maintain a routine while waiting for her first opportunity in films. That suggestion led her to an unexpected space that would shape her early confidence as a performer.
She began working at her mother’s playschool as a teacher.
“I always wanted to be an actor. Early on, my parents figured that I had this little keeda in me,” she recalled. While she waited for her first break, the classroom became a creative outlet. “I used that as my mini stage. Those toddlers were my first audience, and a very forgiving one, as they would always have the biggest smiles if I did anything.”
Learning resilience after her debut
When Advani eventually entered films with Fugly, the response to her debut was not what she had hoped for. Instead of discouraging her, the experience strengthened her resolve. “Failure is the best teacher,” she said. “It made me tougher, more resilient and that drive never stopped.”
Most recently, Advani appeared in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan. The film generated strong attention ahead of release but received a relatively muted response from audiences. She has also been widely speculated to headline Shakti Shalini, part of the expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
Her next confirmed release is Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas. Scheduled to arrive on June 4, 2026, the film will mark her first release after becoming a mother.
