The popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 continues to win hearts with several hearty and candid conversations that contestants often have with host Amitabh Bachchan. Many of them are often seen disclosing things about their personal life in front of the host, which also prompts the latter to give a sneak peek and take references from his own life and experiences. Something similar happened recently yet again on the sets of the popular Sony TV Quiz show, when one of the contestants confessed to referring to his wife as ‘Madam’, when the megastar also made a comment about he would address Jaya Bachchan in the same way.
A contestant named Sujit Kumar, from Bihar had reached the hot seat and was having a fun banter with host Amitabh Bachchan as he kick started his game. During the same, Kumar revealed that he addresses his wife as ‘Madam ji’ which left everyone around curious. Sujit mentioned that she was his senior when they met and now it has become a habit of sorts, so he refers to her in the same manner at home too. After hearing this, Amitabh Bachchan too revealed that he would address Jaya Bachchan similarly because it made working easier.
Amitabh said, “"Hum bhi pehle kabhi kabhi Madam istemaal kiya karte the, kaam vaam ke time aasan hojaata tha. Jaise 'arre madamji zara yahan aayiye to.' (Even I used to use the word ‘Madam’ before when we were working. It was easier to work that way and we could say things like, ‘Madam please come here’)”. Sujit was curious to know what Amitji called his wife now, to which the host gladly obliged and revealed that he now refers to her as ‘Devi ji’.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 airs from Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment.
