Kartik Aaryan spoke out about the frequent discussion surrounding ‘outsiders’ in Bollywood, claiming that actors from film families often get more opportunities. The ongoing insider vs outsider debate in the industry has been a topic for years, with Kartik sharing that he, too, has faced challenges due to the preference for star kids.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Kartik said, “Meri bhi opportunities kayi baar aise gayi hai jahan pe mujhe aisa laga ki maybe I should have gotten the opportunity rather than someone who is from the family or whatever.”

The insider vs outsider debate highlights the belief that young actors from film families have an advantage in getting roles compared to those without industry connections. However, Kartik stated that he has come to terms with this reality. “It's not their fault. I’ve made peace with it. If I had been born into that family, the same would have happened to me,” he added.

Kartik had a successful 2024, receiving both critical praise and commercial success. First in Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion, and although the film didn’t perform well at the box office, Kartik earned accolades for his portrayal of Paralympic champion Murlikant Petkar in the sports biopic.

Kartik's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, became a runaway success, grossing over Rs. 400 crores gross worldwide. The Diwali release outperformed the multi-starrer action film Singham Again, which was released on the same day. He is also set to appear in Aashiqui 3, announced in 2023, though the film is reportedly delayed.
