Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up about her interfaith marriage and the 10-year age gap with husband Saif Ali Khan 10 : Bollywood News

Ever since Kareena Kapoor Khan found love in Saif Ali Khan on the sets of Tashan, the couple have been garnering a lot of attention. For one, Kareena belongs to a Punjabi family whereas Saif used to be the Prince of Pataudi. Moreover, Saif and Kareena had an age gap of a decade, due to which their relationship was scrutinized. Despite all the challenges, the couple tied the knot in 2012 in a simple court ceremony followed by a series of lavish wedding functions which they hosted for their industry colleagues.

In a recent interview with Indian Express, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about the frequent questions she came across about her relationship with Saif Ali Khan. Speaking of their interfaith marriage and how the two actors often faced trolls and got slammed for accepting and following each other’s traditions, Kareena said, “We spend so much time discussing interfaith (relationships). So much energy, so much that they are 10 years apart. The important thing is to have fun. The most important thing between Saif and I is that we like each other and enjoy our company. How should it matter what faith he follows or what his age is that isn’t even a point of discussion.”

Further elaborating on the questions about their age difference, Kareena added, “When has age ever mattered, he is hotter than ever. I am happy I am 10 years younger, he should be worried. No one would say he has turned 53. Age does not matter, what matters is respect and love and the fact that we have fun with each other.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are currently parents to a six-year-old Taimur and a two-year-old Jeh.
