Filmmaker Karan Johar has welcomed the strategic partnership between Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment, calling it a powerful coming together of storytellers. Johar’s reaction comes shortly after Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited acquired a 50.1% stake in Sikhya Entertainment for Rs 150 crores, bringing the Oscar-winning production house into a long-term partnership with Jio Studios. The move is aimed at strengthening Jio Studios’ content slate and expanding the global reach of Indian stories.

The filmmaker has collaborated with the production banner on multiple projects, including the internationally acclaimed The Lunchbox, the recent action thriller Kill, and the web series Gyaarah Gyaarah. His public endorsement underlines Sikhya’s credibility within the industry and its close ties with leading creators.
Founded by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, Sikhya Entertainment has earned global recognition for culturally rooted storytelling, becoming the only Indian production house to win two Academy Awards. The partnership with Jio Studios brings together Sikhya’s creator-led approach and Jio’s scale, distribution strength, and focus on building long-term intellectual property.
