Filmmaker Karan Johar attended Roland-Garros 2026 in Paris at the invitation of Rolex, where he watched the Men’s Quarter-Finals.
The visit follows Johar’s appearance earlier this year as the first Indian filmmaker at the Met Gala.
Over the years, Johar has represented Indian cinema at several international platforms, including the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Marrakech International Film Festival.
“To be invited by Rolex to Roland-Garros is an incredible honour. A sport at this scale offers so much to learn - the grit, the precision, the composure under pressure. It continues to remind me how the next shot is always more important than the last mistake you made, much like life itself. Witnessing it live, in that setting, puts so much into perspective and gives a humility that is hard to describe. Watching the men’s quarter finals was one of those exhilarating experiences you carry long after you have left,” said Johar.
Johar’s appearance at Roland-Garros marks yet another milestone in his global journey, reinforcing his role as a cultural voice for Indian cinema on the world stage.
