The second episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featured the stars of Devara: Part 1 – Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor – engaging with a live audience. The episode aired on Saturday, and on Tuesday, Kapil Sharma shared outtakes showcasing jokes that didn’t make the final cut. Kapil humorously teased Saif about his privileged background but admitted being outdone when Saif responded with a joke. Kapil also fondly remembered his warm interactions with Janhvi’s late mother, Sridevi.
Kapil Sharma teases Saif Ali Khan for his royal upbringing: “You are shuru se ameer, you are from a family of nawab”Kapil humorously referenced Saif’s royal lineage, as the son of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the nawab of Pataudi in Haryana, and jokingly asked if he eats normal food. “You are shuru se ameer, you are from a family of nawabs, do you eat paranthas like regular people or do you make parantha smoothies?” Kapil asked. Saif replied, “Firstly, I don’t eat paranthas. I only eat gluten free food. I got an allergy test done and discovered that I can’t even have milk.”
Janhvi stated that she does not believe in these restrictions, as people have thrived on a variety of foods for centuries. “You don’t need to have milk as an adult, it’s for kids,” he said, as Janhvi sheepishly revealed that she still has milk. In the video, Kapil also looked back on his personal interactions with her mother, Sridevi. Kapil said, “I met at the gym once, and Janhvi was there too. She was very little. Sridevi ji introduced me to Yash Chopra’s wife, Pamela aunty. I met her again, she was sitting quietly in the gym, and you wouldn’t be able to tell that she’s the same Sridevi who lights the screen on fire.” Allowing a moment to pass after Kapil’s warm story, Saif said, “But what were you doing at the gym?” An impressed Kapil said, “Wow, sir.”
Kapil also cracked a stereotype-based joke aimed at Jr NTR, humorously asking if the actor eats sambar rice with his hands even while abroad. Jr NTR replied, “I don’t eat rice at all. But I believe in experiencing foreign cultures through food, and I’m very experimental when I’m abroad.” The Great Indian Kapil Show streams on Netflix every Saturday. Devara premiered in theatres on Friday and has already reportedly grossed nearly Rs 325 crores worldwide.
