The Kapil Sharma Show has become one of the most widely watched shows on television with a massive fan base. The show, which went off air on June 5 this year, is all set to return with a new season, and this time around too, it promises to be a fun-filled entertainer with many celebrities making an appearance. Recently, the channel released a promo for the upcoming episode of the new season. In one of the promos, we can see that Cuttputlli actor Akshay Kumar will be introducing the new characters.

Viewers are aware that The Kapil Sharma Show follows a skit format. While most actors on the show are regulars, their characterization has undergone a bit of change along with some additions and subtractions. While Krushna Abhishek will not be a part of the second season, Srishty Rode has joined the team in the new season. In the recently released promo, we can see that Akshay Kumar will be the celebrity guest of the opening episode and that he will be introducing all the characters of the show.

In the said promo, Akshay Kumar is seen introducing Kapil as Kapu Sharma who has conveniently lost his memory of his wife. Sumona Chakravarti plays the role of his wife whereas Srishty Rode plays the role of his new love interest in this fun skit that promises to leave everyone in splits.

Speaking about the decision of having Akshay introduce the characters, a source close to the production house said, “The inimitable camaraderie between Akshay Kumar and Kapil Sharma is well-known to everyone. That’s why the channel felt that it was only right for Akshay Kumar to do the honours of introducing the show’s characters, besides promoting his film Cuttputlli, which recently released on Disney+ Hotstar.

Besides Akshay Kumar, the opening episode of The Kapil Sharma Show will also see the co-stars from Cuttputlli which includes Chandrachur Singh, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sargun Mehta. In fact, Sargun, who has been a part of the show in the past, will be reuniting with Kapil after a gap of seven years. The Kapil Sharma Show will air from September 10 on Sony Television.
