Kapil Sharma is one of the most popular comedians in India and is also the host of the most popular comedy show- The Kapil Sharma Show. His show is quite popular among Bollywood celebrities to promote their films. However, Kapil has had to struggle a lot to achieve success and name in the industry. In a recent interview, Kapil revealed that he was asked to lose weight to host the celebrity dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Kapil Sharma currently hosts The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV. His show would earlier be telecasted on Colors TV with the name Comedy Nights With Kapil. Before landing his own show on Colors TV, Kapil was offered to host the celebrity dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. However, during the meeting for the same, he was also told to lose some weight.
Recalling the incident during a recent interview, Kapil said that he had gone to Colors office to talk about hosting the show. They had said that Maniesh Paul and he would host the show together.
Kapil further said that they asked him to meet the officials of the production house called BBC. He said that when he went to BBC, one of the officials looked at him and said that he is very fat and should lose some weight.
When Kapil informed Colors about the conversation, the channel contacted the official from BBC and said that Kapil is good and to let him get on board as the host. They said that he can lose the weight later on.
However, Kapil does not remember it as a bitter experience. During their meeting, he had asked the production house about making a comedy show. They gave Kapil two weeks to prepare a pitch for the show. The comedian included all the elements he is good at including sketch comedy, stand-up, and costume comedy, and prepared the pitch and rest is history.
