Ranveer Singh is all set to essay the role of former Indian Cricket Captain, Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's directorial '83. The film has now wrapped up it's UK schedule after the cast was stationed in London for almost five months.
Since they were working together for so many months, they became a family. When the film wrapped in UK, Kabir Khan said that it felt like they had won the World Cup too. He said that '83 is an ambitious film and he thinks they have achieved more than they had planned. Since they were re-creating most of the moments, it required a lot of work and details to get everything right. From permissions to shoot at real locations to venturing into player's locker rooms, Kabir said that it wasn't easy to secure permission. They had to make half of London look like how it did in 1983.
Tracing the historic victory of 1983 world cup, Kabir Khan's upcoming directorial is being presented by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance Entertainment and will star Ranveer Singh as the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev.
Touted to be the ‘biggest sports film’ of the country, '83 is slated to hit the screens on 10 April 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It marks the first-ever trilingual release for both, Ranveer Singh and director Kabir Khan.
