Ek Rishtaa: The Bond Of Love was an emotional story about a family that went onto become successful at the box office. It had an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Mohnish Behl.

Although Ek Rishtaa ended on a happy note, the film’s director Suneel Darshan got a jolt before the film even went on floors and he was forced to change the shooting dates entirely.

Sharing what exactly happened, the filmmaker told Bollywood Hungama in an interview, “We were supposed to be making that movie in a period of one year. But in the first schedule itself we got to know that Juhi Chawla was pregnant. She was cast in the movie, and we were working together again.”

Suneel Darshan was firm on not letting Juhi walk out of the project. “I said I am not changing Juhi for anything in the world in this movie,” he added. “I called Akshay and said that he needs to prioritize his dates for this project. I explained the problem to Mr Bachchan. He said, ‘Sunil, I am there. Start working on how it can happen.’”

The filmmaker came with an unusual solution to tackle the situation. “I said, before Juhi’s pregnancy starts showing, which is only three months, I have to finish this movie, or at least finish her work. And we started shooting for the movie sometime in October. By December, we had finished her work, except for two scenes,” he said.

Juhi gave birth to a baby girl in February 2021 and named her Jhanvi.
