Pathaan is anticipated to be the biggest ever action film that Indian audiences have ever seen in theatres! The visually spectacular Yash Raj Films’, Pathaan, is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and has the biggest superstars of the country Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in it.
John will be seen portraying intimidating rival of SRK in Pathaan. He shares his experience working with Aditya Chopra, director Siddharth Anand and the actress of the film Deepika Padukone.
In a video released by the producers, Yash Raj Films, John speaks about his collaboration with Aditya Chopra over the years. He said, “Aditya Chopra is the only person in this industry I look up to honestly. He is the only person I trust intrinsically and I love the way he positions me in films. He is my go-to person if I need to ask for advice.
He added, “So, when he says John trust me and do this, it will work for you, I believe what he says because he means it and I have done Dhoom with him which was a career defining film in my life. I also did Kabul Express with him, which is one of my favourite films. I did New York with him, which is so close to my heart. Now I am doing Pathaan with him. So, I think all that I have done with Aditya Chopra is nothing short of exceptional and special”.
John shares his desire to work with the director Siddharth Anand more. He said, “I think Sid and I need to work more often because I am in love with the director that he is. He looks out for his actors; I heard that about Sid but I also experienced it.
“He has got a child-like and impatient quality about him, but he knows what he is talking about, he knows what he wants. I don’t know how many big screen Hollywood style directors left at that level and I guess Sid is one of the few ‘Last Man Standing’. So, it will be great to work with him again”, John added.
John Abraham and Deepika had first shared screen for Desi Boyz in 2011, post that their second collaboration was in Race 2 in 2013. The duo reunited again after years of gap. John while sharing his views on working Deepika over the years said, “I know Deepika as a person and I know she is a lovely person. She is of course gorgeous. I love her family; they are all lovely human beings. Deepika has travelled a lot and I am always happy to see her successful because I am so fond of this girl. She is a sweetheart.
“For people who don’t know Deepika, she is one of the nicest human beings and I think that is what makes me gravitate towards her because she is such a nice girl and I will always wish the best for her”, he further added.
YRF’s Pathaan, is all set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. All the assets of the film that YRF has released so far have turned out to be super-hits right from the teaser, the two songs – ‘Besharam Rang & Jhoome Jo Pathaan’, and the trailer has to fire on internet.
