John Abraham opens up about being labeled "finished" in Bollywood, but he persevered, ventured into production, and proved himself with hard work.

John Abraham shared that he went through a period where he didn’t have work for several years because the industry had labelled him as 'finished.' But he decided to take control of his career, proving he was more than just an action hero. John also discussed how he ventured into film production after feeling dissatisfied with the roles he was getting as an actor.

John Abraham reflects on career struggles and reinvention; says, “I was told I was finished, but I kept working”

John Abraham stated he is never insecure in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia. He said, "Before Parmanu when I didn’t work for four years, a lot of newcomers came into the industry. I was told I’m done, I’m finished, I’m out. When Parmanu was released, I didn’t even understand if I was in or out. It worked. Just keep working. Even when I was ‘free,’ I never stopped working. Just work hard; people will see your honesty.”

When asked why he wanted to become a producer, John explained that he was unhappy with the movies he was making and seeing. The actor wants to change things.

He went on to say that everyone's life has two axes: X and Y. A Z-axis entered his life, and people began to perceive him as more than just a big guy. John also stated that people began to realize he had brains and could develop films such as Vicky Donor, Parmanu, and Batla House. "The first defining point in my life was Jism, then Dhoom, and then when I became a producer," he said.

On the work front, Abraham appeared in Pathaan, which co-starred Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. He is now preparing for the release of Vedaa, co-starring Sharvari.

Nikkhil Advani directed Vedaa, which marks his return with John Abraham following the success of Batla House. Sharvari, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mahadev Singh Lakhawat, Kapil Nirmal, and others round out the cast.

Vedaa is being developed by Zee Studios in collaboration with Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment, and it will be released on Independence Day August 15.
