'The Star Next Door' is how The Man describes him. We're talking about John Abraham who is the cover 'pin up' boy in this month's edition of The Man mag.

Ask him about what does 'John' mean to him, he is quick to say, "For me, brand John is about being relatable to the youth of the country. When they look at me, they feel that if this guy, who is someone from our city, locality and family, can make it so big, then so can we. I would like to believe that I am inspirational to a lot of youngsters and motivate them to follow their dream and aspirations." He also adds, "Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra have often told me that I am completely safe in hardcore commercial set up like Dostana and Dhoom. But, I believe, that as an actor it is important to balance things out and I have tried to do that ever since I came into films. Even my debut film Jism was not completely commercial." We all know about his popularity that's spread far and wide. About which he says, "Someone once told me that my popularity is not commensurate to the success or the failure of my films. Minor glitches aside, I manage to stay at the same position and my brand value remains intact."

When asked about what being an actor means to him and the media glare that surrounds him, John says, "When you are an actor, your personal life is for the media and everyone to discuss. The media has linked me with so many actresses in the past despite the fact that I was in a committed relationship all this while. My break up gave rise to so many stories and honestly, it is bit irritating especially when you want people to give you your space. Dealing with the break up is bad and you just want to be left alone".
