Actor Raqesh Bapat recently revealed that senior actor Jaya Bachchan had once called him her son Abhishek Bachchan's competition. She had told Abhishek to look out for him.

Raqesh Bapat had made his film debut with Tum Bin and in a recent interview recalled Amitabh Bachchan praising him for his debut performance. Talking to a leading daily, Raqesh revealed that on the day of the screening of his debut film in 2001, Big B's film Aks was also screened. He said that the screening of Aks was before their film and he was waiting in the parking lot back then. He said that after the screening Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek, and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra stepped out and Jaya spotted Raqesh from far away. She came to him and complimented him. She told Raqesh that he was promising and that she keeps telling Abhishek to look out for him. Abhishek too told him that his mother keeps telling him to look out for Raqesh every time his promo comes on television.

Jaya also introduced Amitabh Bachchan to Raqesh who also complimented the film. Tum Bin was written and directed by Anubhav Sinha and also starred Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sandali Sinha, and Himanshu Malik.
