Janhvi Kapoor hugs ‘magical’ Khushi Kapoor after The Archies premiere: “Sunshine of cinema” : Bollywood News

The much-anticipated film Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies premiered on December 5 in Mumbai amidst much pomp and show. The grand premiere saw the presence of several A-listers as it marks the debut of three-star kids and introduces four new faces. Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi’s youngest daughter, will make her Bollywood debut this week and her sister Janhvi Kapoor can’t contain her excitement.

Janhvi Kapoor shared a photo with her sister Khushi who was sitting on her lap. Post the premiere, she captioned the post, “The sunshine of my life and now sunshine of cinema. You are magical.” For the premiere, Khushi Kapoor chose to pay tribute to her mother, Sridevi in an iconic ensemble. With its intricate crystals, the chosen gown was a showstopper when Sridevi wore it on the 2013 IIFA red carpet.

Anshula Kapoor was also in attendance and penned a sweet note for her sister: "Feeling too many feelings watching this one literally fly on the big screen. ILYSM my @khushi05k. You’ve absolutely killed it. Couldn’t take my eyes off you.”

The film is an Indian adaptation of a Global IP, the iconic Archies Comics. The Archies, set in the 1960s in an Anglo-Indian community based in the fictional hill station town called Riverdale is a coming-of-age story that follows the lives of the town’s favourite set of teenagers- Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton. The film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak and rebellion.

The Archies is scheduled for global release on December 7, on Netflix.
