Akaisha Vats, Amit Behl, Vikram Kochhar, director Indrajit Lankesh, producer Sammy Nanwani and associate producer Charan Suvarna attended the motion poster launch and press conference of Jai Hind Jai Sindh in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Savita Kapoor, the MLA of Dehradun Cantonment, was the chief guest.
Indrajit Lankesh, who earlier made the Richa Chadha-Pankaj Tripathi starrer Shakeela (2020) said, “I got the V Shantaram award for my first film and since then, I have been introducing young talent and newcomers. I did the first film with Vasundhara Das. She later went on to do Hey Ram (2000) with Kamal Haasan. She also worked with Mohanlal, Mammootty, Vijay sir, etc.”
Indrajit continued, “I also launched Deepika Padukone and the rest is history. I am so proud of her. She’s the biggest star today.”
He also opened up about his bond with Jai Hind Jai Sindh’s producer, Sammy Nanwani, “I met him in 2004-05 when I was directing Aishwarya (2006), which featured Deepika Padukone. I took her to Sammy Nanwani’s amusement park, which was called Sammy’s Dreamland. He was ahead of its time. He started this park at a time when Bengaluru was just growing. He bought a huge chunk of land in the outskirts. No one then imagined that the city will become this commercial and metropolitan.”
He added, “We became friends on the first day. He asked me to shoot a documentary about the amusement park, which I did. It was screened all over Karnataka cinemas. That’s how we connected.”
Besides Akaisha Vats, Amit Behl and Vikram Kochhar, Jai Hind Jai Sindh also stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Jaya Prada, Zarina Wahab and many others.
