Actor Jaaved Jaaferi has taken a light-hearted jab at Karan Johar following the announcement that Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India, has acquired a 50% stake in Dharma Productions. On Monday, Karan Johar confirmed that Poonawalla has invested Rs 1,000 crores in the renowned production house, marking a significant business move in the Indian film industry. The investment was made through Serene Productions, which is expected to enhance Dharma’s position in the entertainment sector.

Jaaved Jaaferi’s Humorous Take

In response to the news, Jaaved Jaaferi shared a post on X, playfully announcing Karan's "next film" with a clever twist. He wrote, “Next film: Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Serum.” This humorous comment has resonated with fans, leading to a flurry of playful suggestions for other film titles. 

One fan joked, “Vaccine ke baad se Kuch Kuch Hota Hai…” while another quipped, “Covi Khushi... Covi Gham.” Jaaved’s witty remarks have brought laughter to social media, demonstrating the playful spirit of the entertainment industry. However, hours after sharing the tweet, Jaaved deleted it.

Karan Johar's Vision for Dharma Productions

Commenting on the partnership, Karan Johar expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter in Dharma Productions. He stated, “From its inception, Dharma Productions has been synonymous with heartfelt storytelling that captures the essence of Indian culture. My father dreamed of creating films that would leave a lasting impact, and I’ve dedicated my career to expanding that vision.” 

He continued, stating that the collaboration with Adar Poonawalla is set to elevate Dharma's legacy. Karan noted, “This partnership represents a perfect blend of our emotional storytelling prowess and forward-thinking business strategies. It’s about honoring our roots while embracing the future of global entertainment.”

As the film industry buzzes with excitement about this partnership, Dharma Productions has yet to announce any new film ventures following the investment. Previously, several companies, including Sa Re Ga Ma India, were linked to the deal. 

Meanwhile, Jaaved Jaaferi remains active in the entertainment world, having appeared in the film Jaadugar in 2022 and the second season of the web series Taaza Khabar.
