South Korean fantasy action drama Island, starring Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo and Sung Joon, has unveiled a new mysterious poster.
According to Korean website Soompi, Island is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island. It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. Kim Nam Gil will take on the role of Pan, an immortal being who has protected the world from evil for thousands of years.
As per the report, Lee Da Hee will play the role of Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and teacher who gets attacked by monsters for the first time in her life and fatefully meets Pan. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will be seen as John, the youngest exorcist on earth who is dispatched to Jeju Island by the Holy See.
“The three characters who become intertwined with each other are expected to showcase an unprecedented fantasy action story.” The newly dropped poster features a mystical sword Geumgangjeo amid dark clouds and gloomy atmosphere below the text that reads, as translated by Soompi, “They finally started to make their move.”
Island is a live-action TV series adaptation of the original comic of the same name. The series is produced by YLab Flex, Studio Dragon and Gilstory Ent, directed by Bae Jong and comes from a screenplay written by Oh Bo Hyin. The series debuts in December.
