When Ram Gopal Varma recently announced BHHOOoo, sequel to his successful horror flick Bhoot, there was a strong buzz in the air. After all the film didn’t just promise the comeback of Urmila Matondkar, Ramu’s ex-muse, it was also special since Ajay Devgn would have entered Ramu’s territory four years after their flop outing Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. However as things stand today, all this buzz has turned out to be mere speculation with no cast yet been confirmed for the film.
“There were strong indications that Ajay would be returning with Ramu after willing to forget his bad experience in RGV Ki Aag. Though he does regret the fact that the film stays on to be one of the most criticised and still-debated films of all times, Ajay hasn’t forgotten the good work they have done in the past”, says an industry source, “After all their Company has managed a cult status for itself in the world of gangster flicks while their Bhoot too broke quite a few rules when it came to horror genre. It was but natural that their association resumed once again with BHHOOoo since sequels are in.”
Who else but Ajay would agree with this more? After all he is the main lead of Bollywood’s only franchise (Golmaal) which has seen three parts being released with each of them turning out to be bigger than before. With Ramu promising something bigger and better with BHHOOoo and since Ajay hasn’t done too many horror films in the past, it would have just been apt for the actor to forget the past and make a start all over again.
However quiz Ajay about this and he returns a puzzled expression. “What? Am I supposed to be doing BHHOOoo? Now that’s news to me and I am hearing it for the first time only from you. Where has this piece of information come in”, questions Ajay who sounded genuinely baffled about the latest developments.
Tell him that it is out in some media reports across the world of web and Ajay refuses to buy the theory. “No one has approached me for the sequel and I am not doing it either.”
As for Ramu he has put his plans of BHHOOoo on hold as he begins shooting his Department later this month. “Currently there is work happening on the writing of BHHOOoo. Only after I am through wrapping Department would I think of BHHOOoo“, he says.
Guess that should put all rumours to rest.
