On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Deepika Padukone visited Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, to commemorate a significant milestone — the 10th anniversary of her foundation, Live Love Laugh (LLL). The non-profit organization, founded in 2015, has been at the forefront of spreading mental health awareness and building accessible care frameworks across India.
The actress shared a glimpse of her visit through an Instagram post captioned, “A glimpse into our day at Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh for World Mental Health Day 2025. Our founder @deepikapadukone, Chairperson @drshyam_bhat, CEO @anishapadukone, and the LiveLoveLaugh team witnessed the impact of our work in Chhindwara, where communities, caregivers, and partners are helping make mental health care accessible for all.”

The post featured heartwarming moments of Deepika interacting with local residents, caregivers, and mental health facilitators who are part of the foundation’s rural outreach initiatives. Through the visit, she celebrated the tangible progress LLL has made over the past decade in breaking stigma and promoting well-being at the grassroots level.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Deepika Padukone, Actor and Founder of The Live Love Laugh Foundation, has been appointed as the first-ever Mental Health Ambassador by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW).
This initiative by the Ministry marks a major step toward fostering a more inclusive and supportive mental health ecosystem in India.
Shri J.P. Nadda, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, shared, “The partnership with Ms. Deepika Padukone will help widely disseminate awareness about mental health issues in India, normalize discussions to reduce stigma, and highlight mental health as an integral aspect of public health.”
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Deepika said, “I am deeply honoured to serve as the first-ever Mental Health Ambassador for the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made significant strides in prioritizing mental health care. I look forward to working closely with the Ministry to build on this momentum and further strengthen our nation’s mental health framework.”
