‘India’s Best Dancer 3’ is celebrating ‘Cinema ke 110 Saal, Bemisaal’ in its latest episodes. Paying tribute to the incredible journey of Indian cinema, and honouring the people behind the scenes, who have immensely contributed to the success of this industry, the show will see Manoj Desai, the executive director of G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema, Ranjit Dahiya, the founder of the Bollywood Art Project, and Reshma Pathan, the first stuntwoman in the Indian film industry be a part of this special episode along with choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan.
Bollywood Art Project’s Ranjit Dahiya has been beautifying the streets of Mumbai with gigantic portraits of film stars across generations, and on the stage of India’s Best Dancer - he talked about his love for Bollywood. He shared, "My journey was not easy; there were a lot of struggles. When I started the project, I didn’t have enough money, but I had the dream of doing something in Mumbai so that people would come to this city to watch Bollywood. Bombay is known as ‘Cinema ki Nagri‘ but there was no representation of Bollywood, hence I wanted to change that and create something. And, today I have been making Bollywood paintings for the past 11 years, with more than 40 murals in India till date.”
Farah Khan, who met him on the show, asked him to make an iconic painting from her film Om Shanti Om, which marked the debut of superstar Deepika Padukone in Bollywood. She said, “Whenever I pass the sea link and see your painting, I always wish that one day you will make a painting of one of my films, like Om Shanti Om, maybe.”
Besides that, the other guests on the show too opened about their journey in the entertainment industry. India’s first successful stunt woman Reshma Pathan opened up about her journey saying, "Back then, the condition in my house was not so good, I had many brothers and sisters, and my father was really ill, so I had to earn for the family somehow. One day I was jumping around on the streets and Azim Bhai saw me, and while everyone was giving me a few paise, he gave me 2 rupees. I told him I did not have change and he asked me to keep the money. He even came to my house, met my father, and spoke to him about letting me enter the industry. My father was not ok with it, but I convinced him a lot and entered the industry as a stunt woman. The industry gave me a lot, and because of my hard work and your love, I am standing on this stage today. I am truly grateful.”
India's Best Dancer 3 airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
