In a first, clash of ghosts between Bhoothnath Returns and Gang of Ghosts : Bollywood News

Now this one is going to be a sweet-n-charming coincidence despite an element of horror surrounding it. Early 2014, as soon as the school board exams would be over, at least two filmmakers would be targeting youngsters with a movie each. The irony is that both films would have 'ghosts' playing the central protagonists.

We are talking about Bhoothnath Returns and Gang of Ghosts.

"Both are slated for April 11, arrival," confirms a source, "Though Amitabh Bachchan's Bhoothnath Returns was always slated for release on this date, now Ganesh Jain, Ratan Jain and Satish Kaushik too have expressed their intentions of bringing Gang of Ghosts alongside that. It is going to be funnily eerie for sure."

None of the horror stories are set in the Ram Gopal Varma/Ekta Kapoor zone though.

"It isn't like a Bhooth Returns or Ek Thi Daayan in the offering," states an insider, "We all know that Bhoothnath was never meant to be scary. It was always a kiddie outing with Bachchan playing a grumpy old ghost who found love and affection in a kid. Now in the film's sequel, it is going to be no different. After all, the director out there is Nitesh Tiwari who has already excelled in making an out and out kids' film - Chillar Party."

On the other hand, Satish Kaushik too has designed Gang of Ghosts as an out and out comedy. With Sharman Joshi, who has a natural bent for comedy, leading the cast and Jackie Shroff, Parambrata, Anupam Kher, Saurabh Shukla, Chunky Pandey, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav and Kaushik himself filling in the supporting cast, it is obvious that the focus is on laughs than the fear factor. As for the female leads, there is Mahie Gill with Meera Chopra (Priyanka Chopra's cousin) making her debut, both of whom are adding to the glamour quotient.

Says Kaushik, "Concept wise, Gang of Ghosts is very unique. The ghosts out there don't create problems for others but are in problems themselves."

As for the clash he says with a hearty laugh, "Accha hai naa, the genre will be in the air."
