Actor Imran Khan recently opened up about his career in a candid interview. Khan, who has been largely absent from the public eye for several years, reflected on the highs and lows of his time in the industry, including the critical and commercial failure of his 2009 film Luck.
In the interview with the IFP YouTube channel, Khan expressed his initial disappointment with Luck, which was panned by critics and failed to resonate with audiences. "When the film was released, it was a disaster. They tarred and feathered me," he recalled. "I should be ashamed of it."
However, Khan revealed that his perception of Luck has shifted over time, influenced by the positive reactions he has received from fans in recent years. "To hear someone say 'woohoo' about the film is weird," he admitted. "It's quite a journey to reshape your perspective on something like that."
Khan further added, “To me, this was a horrible, shameful film, and I should be ashamed of it. But yet, someone says, ‘Hey, I like it, I enjoy it’. That’s remarkable, it makes me feel like that wasn’t time wasted.”
Khan attributes this change in perspective to the #LautAaoImran campaign, a social media movement initiated by fans urging him to return to acting. The campaign inspired Khan to re-engage with his fans and re-evaluate his past work.
"I'm just winging it," Khan confessed about his Instagram journey, which has sparked the #LautAaoImran movement. He has used the platform to share personal anecdotes and insights into his life as an actor, providing fans with a glimpse into his experiences and struggles.
