You'd normally go back to your office after interviewing a female celebrity thinking how emotional she is when it comes to issues tackling crime, poverty, children, etc. For a change, Anjana Sukhani comes across as a tough cookie. To put it simply, she isn't a damsel in distress. If you meet her in person, Sukhani comes across as a perfect walk-down-the-aisle material. She's a down-to-earth girl, with a great sense of humor and a taste for humanity. And she's just as feisty as some of the characters she plays on screen. Her latest film Allah Ke Banday doesn't boast of any great role for her but she is more than willing to let it out. "If I can try and give back a little through this film to the children around the world, that'd be great," she quotes. Allah Ke Banday deals with children at war, a film so hard hitting that it might change the social stratum of such crimes which still prevails. To sum up her role, Anjana is facing her greatest test with this film. Time and again in her short career, Anjana has also proved herself willing to do whatever necessary to bring conviction to her character, and Allah Ke Banday is just the start to the many more significant characters she will give birth to in the coming years. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent chats with the susceptible, strong and submerged Sukhani on why she thinks Allah Ke Banday is a film that'll touch the many hearts and souls around the world.

“I hope Allah Ke Banday triggers an emotion like Rang De Basanti did” – Anjana

"Anything related to children touches me"

Anything related to children is sensitive for me. Allah Ke Banday isn't about crime alone, it's about children too. The mere thought of that was enough for me to say yes to the film. Even though I knew that I don't have more screen time, it is good to be associated with a film like this. If I can try and give back a little through this film to the children around the world, that'd be great.

"Allah ke Banday is entertaining and engrossing"

My generation is fully into films that appeal to them, whether it is a film like Allah Ke Banday or Golmaal 3 or Break Ke Baad. It's very important as an actor to entertain the audience in every level and that you can achieve by doing various films with diverse genres and subjects.

I'd love to work with Sharman Joshi again

Sharman is associated with comedy since his Golmaal days. But he also believes to bring up such an issue to light. I am sure that's what triggered him to be a part of Allah Ke Banday. To be with Sharman Joshi in a film is a rare opportunity. He is a phenomenal actor who can be as intense in Allah Ke Banday or as funny in Golmaal or 3 Idiots. Sharman has an amazing range. Give him any film, any scene, this man will stand out on his own from the rest. I'd love to work with Sharman in many films.

"Focused is a word to describe Faruk"

My director Faruk Kabir is so focused in every department that he doesn't have to go back to look into it again after he has finished with it. That's his forte. As a director, his shot break downs were ready and so was his storyboard. We as actors didn't have to worry about anything. As a lyricist, director and an actor, he has very nicely segregated each department from his individual persona. That's why he has made a remarkable film like Allah Ke Banday. You look at him today and you'll hardly feel he has pressure as the film releases in the next few days.

"Allah Ke Banday is for the masses"

This is not a film like Salaam-E-Ishq, it's a film which needs to go to the masses because it is tapping into that issue that is related to the masses and our society. The higher strata of society should also witness a film like this to help out the children. I hope we had less illiteracy in our country because juvenile crime would've been lesser in India. We do not have basic necessities to provide the children, how will we provide education? The aspirations they have as youngsters aren't fulfilled and thus they take up arms instead of books.

"We are warm hearted people"

We can shed a tear on anything. We as Indians are warm hearted and not cold blooded. That's what makes us more sensitive to things and people around us. If you see a child on the road who is begging, you would help him with food than money but you would extend a helping hand. That's how we are. There are so many children who starve to death in the world at the age when they've just entered the beautiful world. I mean, there are so many issues which affects children.

"I am a tough cookie"

Anjana Sukhani is very emotional as a person. But at the same time, I have an immense internal strength. I can face anything and everything in life and at the same time protect my near and dear ones. I have a fine balance of sensitivity and being very strong.
