John Abraham

John's reel life status makes him a star you'd dream to meet. But on meeting him, you'll soon find out that he is the most laid back human beings on this planet. Honest, trustworthy, lovable and genuine is how you'd describe him...and that's what makes him an unadulterated celebrity. Jhootha Hi Sahi, his next film, falls under the same bracket. It's pure, neat and cute and stars the new found John Abraham you've never seen before on celluloid. So far the handsome, likeable young man has not put a foot wrong in a career that continues to soar, except a few here and there. John has a self-deprecating modesty which means it rings true when he says he doesn't understand the reason for the attention he is generating for his new look in Jhootha Hi Sahi. He quotes, "I guess the time has come that the Dostana fascination amongst my women fan is diminishing". Deteriorating or not, we don't know. All we know is you're back...and it's good. UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent chats with one of India's hottest male celebrities on Jhootha Hi Sahi. As he aptly and confidently puts, "All the films I've said 'yes' to in the first go have always worked for me. Jhootha Hi Sahi falls in the same bracket...and that's not a lie."

“I don’t know if Jhootha Hi Sahi will get opening or not, but it’ll surely work” – John

John ka look

"Honestly, I was worried about my look in Jhootha Hi Sahi. But Abbas convinced me and said, 'Trust me, this will work'. Initially when the first look of mine came out in public, audiences were a little apprehensive about it but now if you ask my fans, they love it. From handsome to cute and sweet is a good transformation. People are saying that my look from Dostana is passé now and Jhootha Hi Sahi look is in."

John ka film

"Jhootha Hi Sahi is a very sweet film. I can keep on talking about my role in the film. Now-a-days we are more worried about the first three days of the film and believe me; the film will only work on the fourth day if it has content. Jhootha Hi Sahi has great content and I'm proud of that. I'm making no qualms about it. Whether Jhootha Hi Sahi will get an opening or not, I don't know, but it'll surely work because of the content which is pure and sweet."

John ka director

John Abraham

"I don't know whether the content becomes richer if you have Abbas Tyrewala as a writer and a director. In this case, the story was so beautiful, that when I heard the one line idea about the film, I told Abbas, 'I'm doing the film.' He didn't have the script then. What has now eventually turned out is even better and has surpassed the script. Abbas being a writer, we definitely have a larger advantage."

John ka love

"I don't deserve credit for Pakhi saying that she owes her career to me. I just think Pakhi was just right for the film. When she came to narrate the film, my producer asked me after she finished, 'Who do you think we should cast as the heroine for our film?', I answered, 'The girl who had come to narrate the film, Pakhi.' She was the best choice. Pakhi is a sweet, peppy and the girl next door."

John ka acting

"With Abbas, I've shared my personal relationships so it would enrich him to direct me and to get my performance out which was beyond what I've already done. If New York was a certain benchmark, this is slightly ahead of that in terms of my performance. I'm a guy who is improving with every film. Rome wasn't built in a day. I am not going to be the best actor overnight but at least I can promise my audience that I can give them sensible and good cinema. Jhootha Hi Sahi is a film in the right direction."

John ka good luck

"It's important to be a trend setter and not a follower. I can't do a film if people say that it's a commercial film. I can do it because of my gut feel, and I have learnt from that. Taxi No.9211 was a film I fell in love with from the first go and I did it, same with New York, and same with Jism and Dhoom. All the films I loved the second time and refused the first have failed."

John Abraham

John ka crew

"We had an Academy Award winning crew members on board. The guy who was the art director in the Oscar winning film The Hurt Locker, David Bryan, was the production designer for Jhootha Hi Sahi. Then we have our very own A.R Rahman who is the music director. We decided to shoot London, the way the city was supposed to be seen, eliminating its glamorous side."

John ka music

"There is a song in Jhootha Hi Sahi called 'Call Me Dil' which I love to death. It's a song that I am obsessed with and listen to regularly. Rahman has created each track with a film in mind. When you watch the film, you'll realise that you like the music even more. The music is sure to grow on you."
