Anupam Kher is shooting for the pilot episode of an international television series for NBC. This is when his Silver Linings Playbook co-star Robert De Niro surprised him by hosting a private dinner for him at his residence. Silver Linings Playbook director David O’Russel also arrived at the dinner to surprise Anupam.

Anupam Kher shared a lovely video with Robert De Niro where Hollywood legend was singing 'Happy Birthday' to him. Anupam even thanked him for being there and said it was the best present in the world for him. Sharing the video, he wrote, "Thank you Grace & Mr. Robert De Niro for making my birthday the biggest highlight of my entire life. Thank you for the surprise dinner for me at your home. Thank you for singing “Happy Birthday” song for me. Thank you for my ultimate KUCH BHI HO SAKTA HAI moment. #GodOfActing."

On the work front, Anupam Kher is currently shooting for NBC’s medical drama titled, ‘Bellevue’. Dr. Eric Manheimer, author of the memoir ‘Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital’ has produced this NBC’s next since it is also inspired by the book. The character-driven medical drama is about a director at the Bellevue hospital, who shakes the status quo of the hospital with his approach. Anupam Kher will be seen as one of the veteran doctors in the hospital.
