Filmmaker Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2 is one of the most keenly awaited films of the year. The movie is the next in the franchise after the highly successful Stree (2018), which had taken everyone by surprise. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles. But it also has a rich blend of supporting cast and that also includes the very talented Pankaj Tripathi. The actor will carry forward his character Rudra from the first movie.

Here’s why Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik asked Pankaj Tripathi to take a couple of days off before starting the film’s shoot

Interestingly, when Tripathi arrived to shoot Stree 2, he had just returned after completing Main Atal Hoon. Directed by Ravi Jadhav, the movie was the biopic on India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Main Atal Hoon and Stree are as different as chalk and cheese in various ways. As Tripathi had just been back after the shoot of the biopic, director Amar Kaushik realized that this might prove to be a challenge for Tripathi. Hence, he asked the actor to take a couple of days off to reacclimatize before starting Stree 2. This proves how much Amar Kaushik thinks about the well-being of his actors.

Stree 2 is a part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. It will be releasing in theatres on August 15. It will clash at the box office with two other movies – Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, which stars John Abraham and Sharvari.
