Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 57th birthday recently. His date of birth, November 2, has become an important day for moviegoers and his palatial residence, Mannat, is nothing short of a monument. It’s common to see tourists lined up all day outside his house as clicking a picture at the Mannat gate means the world to his fans. As Shah Rukh turned another year older, we bring to you the not-so-popular trivia about how his bungalow was named.

Neeta Sinha played a major role here. She is a famous astro-architect with many celebrities, businessmen etc in her clientele. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror in February 2017, she revealed that when Shah Rukh brought his sea-facing bungalow, he faced a lot of opposition from the heritage committees over alterations to the structure. This is when Neeta asked him to name his bungalow with a word that began with ‘M’ as that would eliminate all the trouble. In another interview with Mid-Day in March 2022, she said, “When he said ‘Mannat’, it sounded good to me.”

And that’s not all. She had also suggested Shah Rukh Khan name his company which begins with the word ‘R’. This prompted SRK to name his production house Red Chillies Entertainment.

In the October 2011 issue of Filmfare, Neeta Sinha opened up about another star client, Amitabh Bachchan. It was at her behest that his bungalow’s name was changed from Mansa to Jalsa. This was a time when his career was at an all-time low. He was sceptical about Neeta Sinha’s suggestion since many other experts had asked him to make changes and it didn’t work out. Nevertheless, Amitabh changed the name of his residence to Jalsa. She said, “After he changed the bungalow’s name, he bagged ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ within a week,” and added, “Today, he trusts me completely.”

Neeta Sinha also claimed that she suggested to Akshay Kumar that he should maintain all paperwork in his birth name, Rajiv Bhatia. Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Bipasha Basu, John Abraham etc are also her clients.

Superstar Salman Khan, however, is the only one who didn't take heed of her advice. In the Filmfare interview, Neeta Sinha revealed that she was taken to his house in Galaxy Apartments by Salman's sister Alvira Agnihotri. Neeta advised covering of certain mirrors in the house but "Salman uncovered them immediately."
