Entrepreneur and interior designer Gauri Khan, who loves Asian cuisine, recently launched Torii, a progressive Asian restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai. She partnered with her friends who are also co-partners, Tanaaz Bhatia and Abhayraj Kohli. While she loves Asian food, she recently talked about her food habits and how she once cooked an Indian dish, which turned out bad.

Gauri Khan revealed she once cooked Biryani and it turned out to be a disaster. Speaking to Vogue India, she said, “I tried to cook biryani once. I really love the dish but I think it’s better for me to enjoy eating it versus trying to cook it. Let’s just leave it at that.”

Talking about trying the most exotic dish, Gauri revealed that she has tried Escargot, edible land snails. “I know it’s not considered exotic any longer since so many people have tried it and enjoy it but it’s definitely on the more adventurous side of my culinary adventures,” she added.

She also said that she loves chaat. “Chaat. I’m a Delhi girl and the chaat and street food there are incomparable. Wherever I go, I try new and different types of chaat, and of course, all the old favourites I love,” she said.

Torii boasts a vibrant colour palette characterized by luxurious gold accents, rich reds, and vibrant greens, creating an ambience that exudes both luxury and warmth.
