Actor Gaurav Khanna recently addressed the buzz surrounding his prize money from Bigg Boss 19 after a statement from one of his vlogs sparked widespread discussion among fans on social media. The actor had earlier mentioned in a vlog that he had not yet received his winnings from the reality show, leading many to speculate about a delay in the payout.
The clip soon went viral online, prompting debates among viewers regarding the reason why Khanna never received the prize money. However, in a recent interview with Times Now, Khanna clarified that the situation had been misunderstood and that the comment was taken out of context. Explaining the timeline, the actor said that the vlog in question had actually been recorded much earlier during a trip to his hometown, and its later release created confusion among viewers who believed the remark was recent. "Actually, this is being blown out of proportion. It's from a vlog which was recorded nearly 40 days back, when I was travelling to my hometown in winters, but it got released some time back, so people thought it was a new recording. It isn't," he said.
Khanna further reassured fans that the issue had already been resolved and that he had received the complete prize money in the meantime. "I have, in the meantime, received my full prize money. Also, in TV, the timelines take some time, which I have clearly mentioned in the vlog without blaming anyone. So kindly, please avoid hyping this up," he added.
The actor’s earlier remarks from the vlog had suggested that delays in receiving payments are not unusual in the television industry and are usually part of a standard process. At the time, he had said, “Waise sach bolu toh thoda time lagta hain ye sab ana. Frankly, abhi tak nahi miley hain. Lekin, I am sure mil jayenge because ek process hota hain (To be honest, these things take some time to come through. Frankly, I haven’t received it yet, but I’m sure it will come because there is a process).”
He had also explained the reason behind such delays, adding, “I think 1-2 mahiney toh lagte hain ye saari cheezein aanein mein because company ki apni internal audits hoti hain. Aa jayega, aisa nahi hain ki nahi aayega. Thoda delay hota hain, which is fine. TV ka banda hoon and TV mein thode delays hote hain. Aa jayega (I think it usually takes one to two months for these things to come through because companies have their own internal audits. It will come, it’s not like it won’t. There can be slight delays, which is fine. I come from television and such delays happen in TV. It will come).”
With the actor now confirming that the payment has been received, Khanna hopes the clarification will put an end to the speculation that had been circulating online.
