The frequent boycott call of Bollywood on social media has affected the Box-Office performance of many Hindi films. However, the poor performance not only affects the producers involved in the film but also the exhibitors. Recently, in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, renowned film exhibitor Manoj Desai candidly spoke about the downfall of Bollywood while giving a piece of advice to the Hindi film stars.

When asked to shed some light on the reason behind the failure of Hindi films, Manoj asserted, “First of all - it’s the content of the film.” Later, on he added that acting professional needs to understand their job and stick to it rather than cribbing about their screen timing in the film. As the conversation progressed, Desai also pointed out that controversial statements of the actors also affect the BO performance of a film.

While giving reference to Aamir Khan’s intolerance remark, he added that it contributed to the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. Meanwhile, he also discussed the failure of Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan as he mentioned that the audience was not satisfied with the content. Here too, Manoj firmly said that the film failed because of certain controversial statements given by Khiladi Kumar.

As he expressed his disappointment, he said, “Koi bhi artist ko politics nahi khelna chahiye. They should keep [themselves] away from politics. He then elaborated, “You are [an] artist. You are a good actor. Bring emotions in your acting. Bring action in your acting. And, you will see how the public will appreciate you”.
