Veteran actress Farida Jalal offered a balanced review of Aryan Khan's directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, calling it "theek tha" while suggesting room for improvement. In an interview with Zoom, she warmly welcomed Shah Rukh Khan's son into the industry, drawing from her long association with the star.
Farida Jalal responded to questions about the Netflix series, saying, “I did. Theek tha, it was okay. He could have done it better, but accha toh tha.” She extended her blessings with, “Welcome home! Yahin ke toh hai, aur kahan jayenge?” reflecting her affection after collaborating with SRK in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
The Ba***ds of Bollywood, premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2025, satirises the dynamics of the Hindi film industry, insider privileges, and outsider struggles. Starring Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, and Manoj Pahwa, it created a lot of buzz among the audience.
Meanwhile, Farida last appeared in The Great Shamsuddin Family on JioHotstar in December 2025. She next stars in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo with Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Disha Patani, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vikrant Massey, and Avinash Tiwary, scheduled to release on February 13.
