Farhan Akhtar reacts to joining the MCU through Ms. Marvel – “I stood like a superhero” : Bollywood News

Bollywood actor-director Farhan Akhtar recently made his Hollywood debut starring in the ongoing Marvel and Disney+ Hotstar series Ms. Marvel and the star has impressed all with just one episode.

The fourth episode of the ongoing mini-series starring Iman Vellani introduced Farhan as the leader Waleed of the Red Daggers as the story takes Kamala to her roots in Pakistan to find out more about her ancestral bracelet that provided her with extraordinary powers making her the titular superhero.

Now, in a recent interactive session dropped by Disney+ Hotstar, the actor-filmmaker answered some interesting questions about Marvel. Sharing his first reaction to the news of being cast in Marvel Studios’ Ms Marvel, he said, “You automatically start feeling like a superhero when someone tells you that you are going to be part of the MCU. I stood like a superhero, just missing my cape."

He further addresses the audience in Hindi and mentions, "I am Farhan Akhtar and I hope you all are enjoying watching Ms Marvel. If you have not seen it yet then you must watch it on Disney+ Hotstar in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam."

Speaking about the first MCU film/series he watched, he replied saying, “As far as my memory serves me, Iron Man was the first MCU film I watched.”

When asked who he would like to team with in the future, Farhan said, “That would be Iron Man. I know, unfortunately, he is no longer with us but if they could find a way, I’d like it to be him.”

While the actor is a big Iron Man fan, he mentions that he finds Doctor Strange’s powers really cool and would love to have those. When further asked to name three female Avengers in 10 seconds, Farhan promptly answered Ms Marvel followed by Captain Marvel and Black Widow. He also answered the names of three MCU villains and six infinity stones in the rapid-fire.

Meanwhile, the season finale of Ms. Marvel is in next two episodes. The series has been directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a two-time Oscar winner in the short documentary category, and Meera Menon.

Along with Iman and Farhan, the series boasts a tremendous supporting cast of Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat.

The new episodes of Ms. Marvel are available to stream every Wednesday on Disney+ Hotstar.
