Farah Khan reveals challenges of shooting the song ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ with Bollywood’s biggest stars; says, “Govinda came 24 hours late” 24 : Bollywood News

Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan accomplished the near-impossible feat of bringing together nearly all the top actors of the film industry for Om Shanti Om’s song ‘Deewangi Deewangi.’ The star-studded lineup included Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Karisma Kapoor, Rekha, and Dharmendra, among many others. In a previous interview, Farah Khan shared anecdotes from the making of the song, revealing that Govinda arrived almost 24 hours late for the shoot, adding an extra layer of challenge to coordinating such a massive ensemble.

Farah stated on the IFTDA official YouTube page that the song experienced a few difficulties and said, “Govinda came 24 hours late.” She then recalled that day and said, “So we are waiting. It’s his time, his shot is ready. So I called him ‘Chichi, where are you?’ He said ‘I am shooting in Dharavi.’ I said ‘but we are in Film City’. But then he came the next day.”

Farah previously said on Zee Comedy Show that throughout her 30-year career as a choreograopher, she had never choreographed Govinda, despite knowing him since infancy. She stated that even during the shoot of her Om Shanti Om song, she begged Govinda to teach Shah Rukh Khan his dances. “In fact, even when he came to shoot for ‘Om Shanti Om’s ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ song, I didn’t have the courage to choreograph him. Hence, I told Govinda to choreograph Shah Rukh Khan for his portion, telling them that we’ll keep those steps. They did the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in the end and it came out so well.”

Farah stated in the same interview that she has always believed that Govinda’s jodi with choreographer Ganesh Acharya was so excellent that anything she would have done with the actor wouldn’t have looked as good.
